Slain journalist's dad: 'There are too many guns in the hands of crazy people'

The father of Alison Parker, the 24-year-old journalist shot dead on live TV on Wednesday, spoke out in an emotional interview with the Associated Press to ask how her shooter got a gun."How many times are we going to see a crazy person with a gun kill people?" Andy Parker asked."The politicians have got to stand up to the NRA and close some of these loopholes so that crazy people don't get guns," the grieving father added. "And, honestly, I'm sure that the reaction from some of these wing nuts is going to be, 'well, you know, if she had a handgun with her this would have never have happened'. She could have had a AK-47 strapped around her waist, she couldn't have seen this coming. There are just too many guns in the hands of crazy people."Parker said he was "reluctant to do any interviews" but that "Alison was a journalist and she was a hell of a journalist and she would me to do. I am doing it for her because I think she would want this story told."
