Now this is definitely record breaking. Especially for a scooter. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has announced that its Activa brand has sold more than 1 crore units in India. With this the Activa becomes the first scooter to have achieved such a milestone.

The Activa was first launched in 2001 and in it first year itself the scooter sold more than 55000 units. If you think this is big then wait. The following year the Activa sold an astounding 21 lakh units. That’s a jump of more than 3700 percent. If that was not record breaking then we don’t know what is.

Currently Honda Motors have a market share of more than 59 percent in the scooter segment in India and the Activa has big role to play in that. Currently, there are three variants of the Activa on sale - the Activa 3G, Activa i and the Activa 125.
