PAS wants special Parliamentary sitting on Sabah incident

PAS today demanded that Prime Minister Najib Razak convene a special session of Parliament on the current crisis in Sabah.

Vice President Mahfuz Omar said this was necessary because the police units sent out to intercept the armed intruders seemed ill-prepared, many he said were not even equipped with bullet-proof vests and helmets.

Mahfuz also wants the government to explain why, despite the many government security agencies opeating in the area and the advanced equipment they claim to possess, armed foreigners were able to penetrate the defenses to occupy a village in Lahat Datu. He wants a White Paper on this.

Mahfuz took the opportunity to offer condolences to the family of the two policemen killed in a skirmish with a group of the intruders. The policemen were from the police commando unit, VAT 69.

Since the publication of this video, police have confirmed five more of the men have perished in an ambush by intruders off Semporna.
