Malaysiakini to apply for newspaper permit again

Malaysiakini will be writing to the Home Minister to reconsider its application over a permit to publish a newspaper.
Its CEO Premesh Chandran said this was following the the federal government's decision not to file any application against the Court of Appeal decision in favour of Malaysiakini's right to apply for a newspaper licence.
The 30-day period to file the appeal had lapsed on Tuesday.
