Present and future of ammonia-fueled vehicles
With the global warming problem becoming more serious, futuristic environment-friendly vehicles are coming under the spotlight. Among them is Am Veh, an ammonia-fueled vehicle developed and unveiled last year by Korea Institute of Energy Research. The institute reformed an existing vehicle to create the new car which runs on a 7:3 fuel mixture of ammonia and gasoline. The institute says this fuel mixture reduces carbon dioxide emissions as much as the proportion of ammonia. The institute is targeting to develop a vehicle that can run on pure ammonia in 3-4 years. We will examine the present and future of ammonia-fueled vehicles.
