Peru: Health Workers End 3 Day Strike, Threaten Further Actions

Peruvian public health workers ended their 72 hour national strike. The main demands were for higher wages and uniform contract clauses for workers throughout the health care system. Union leaders say that if their demands are not met they will call an open-ended national strike later this month. This would strain the country's already deficient health care system, which is underfunded and has a shortage of doctors, hospital beds, and services. Rael Mora reports from Lima. teleSUR
