Nigeria: 25 killed in suspected Boko Haram suicide blast

A suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber has killed at least 25 people in northern Nigeria.
The attack on a local government building at Zaria in Kaduna state bore all the hallmarks of the Islamist militant group.
In the central city of Jos, on Sunday, Boko Haram was blamed for killing at least 44 people in twin bomb blasts targeting a restaurant and a mosque.
And on Monday, a girl thought to be aged just 13 blew herself up near a mosque in an apparent suicide attack attempt in Kano, Nigeria’s second-largest city.
The Islamists have intensified their campaign of violence since new President Muhammadu Buhari took office in May, vowing to quell their insurgency.
Last week alone, more than 200 people died in a string of attacks in Nigeria.
Boko Haram has been waging an insurgency since 2009 to establish a state in Nigeria’s northeast adhering to strict Sharia law.
It took over large swathes of territory last year but has since been repelled from most parts by Nigerian force
