Released after RayForce and before RayCrisis, RayStorm is part of the three-game Ray series on the PlayStation. It’s one of the system’s best shooters, too. A fast-paced, explosion-heavy, pseudo-3D shoot ‘em up, RayStorm combines the gameplay of Xevious with the cinematic cameras of Star Fox and the intensity of being struck by lighting! No, seriously, we were struck by lightning when we played this. Originally released to arcades, the game was released to the PlayStation later the same year, where it proceeded to make Nintendo 64 owners very jealous. A figurative blast with lots of literal ones, RayStorm features single-player and local multiplayer play on the original PlayStation.
