Kurdish Victory over ISIL Sparks Debate Over Effect on Syria

Kurdish fighters have seized a strategic military base in the north of Syria, a base that Islamic State extremists had captured from the Syrian Army a year ago. Some speculate that this victory will encourage the Kurds to push for their long held dream of an independent Kurdish state and that the United States could manipulate the situation in hopes of weakening Syria. Other analysts point out that many Kurds feel that Syria is their home and that in many cases they have fought side by side with the Syrian Army. Hazem Abdullah reports from Damascus for teleSUR.
