Blatter Re-Elected FIFA President

Seth Blatter won re-election as president of FIFA, the scandal-ridden world soccer federation. In first-round voting Friday at the FIFA congress held in Switzerland, Blatter fell just short of the two-thirds majority needed to be reelected, but sailed to victory in the second round. In a speech to the congress, Blatter called for unity to repair the damage done to FIFA, for which he claimed not to be responsible. Top FIFA officials have been arrested and held for extradition to the United States on corruption allegations. teleSUR
