3D printed cortex cast takes the itch out of healing broken bones

A New Zealand design student has come up with a redesign of the plaster cast using 3D printing technology that could revolutionize the process of healing broken bones.
Victoria University of Wellington student Jake Evill's Cortex cast replaces plaster and fibreglass casts with a lightweight, recyclable polyamide cast manufactured on a 3D printer.
