Pigs gone wild: Atlanta neighborhood terrorized by giant feral pigs

Residents of the Atlanta suburb of Lithonia are squealing for help after their neighborhood has been terrorized by a group of large feral pigs.
Local man Demarques Williams, 17, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he and his six siblings got a fright after trying to chase one of the wild beasts from their yard.
"It chased us back into the house," he said. "I was scared at the moment it started chasing me."
Williams said one of the animals weighed as much as 300 pounds with six-inch tusks and was not scared of people.
Residents including Williams and neighbor Taneisha Danner are worried as the swine are rummaging through garbage, creating havoc and scaring kids,many of whom are too frightened to go outside to play.
A government animal expert told how wild pigs can become aggressive if they are protecting a food source or their young.
Local hunter Perry Millet turned up in the area armed with his crossbow and offered to hunt down the out-of-control porkers after seeing reports of the pig trouble on local news.
But Millet was left hog-tied, his good intentions going to waste after DeKalb County Police told Millet he needed a permit to hunt the hogs.
He vowed to return once he got the permit, giving two reasons: "The kindness of my heart and I like the wild game, I like the meat," he told the Journal,
In the meantime police said authorities are hoping the pigs can be trapped sometime later this week.
