The singer-and-actress confirmed on 'American Idol' last night that she will perform 20 two-hour shows at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino between January 20 and June 12 next year and she is excited about creating an experience that wouldn't be possible with a tour.

She said: "It's just the idea of creating the show that I've always wanted to create.

"You know, touring is an animal, and to get to be in one place and really build a show exactly how I've always imagined - I feel like I've been waiting for this moment my whole life. I'm very excited about it."
