Former sumo wrestler arrested for fake marriage

A former sumo wrestler Takaya Kobayashi and his Korean wife were arrested for having a fake marriage registration. Kobayashi was a popular sumo wrestler in 1991. After retiring, he opened his own restaurant and tried to get into entertainment. Kobayashi apparently told his friend that his marriage was fake. The two had a marriage license, but never lived together. He now faces charges for having a fake marriage, although he denies the accusation. The Korean woman is living with another Japanese man and admitted to the charges. She said she was just trying to stay in the country.
