Off-duty Philly cop shoots man in dog shit bust up

The dog shit really hit the fan over the weekend in Philly as an off-duty cop shot a man after they got into an argument when the man allowed his dog to poop on the cop's lawn.

It all started on the 6400 block of Oakley Street in Lawndale when the reckless dog owner allowed his mutt to take a dump on a neighborhood lawn.

The off-duty cop obviously didn't take kindly to his garden being used as a canine crapper and went outside to ask the dog owner to scoop up his dog's poop.

After a heated exchange, the dog owner walked away before returning several minutes later without his dog and promptly attacked the homeowner.

During the scuffle the incensed dog owner reportedly pulled the off-duty cop's hoodie over his head and carried on pummeling him from behind.

The cop them managed to reach for his hip holster and pulled out his Glock pistol. He got off a shot, hitting his attacker in the right thigh, who then fell to the ground. Both men were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.

The officer has been placed on administrative duties while an investigation looks into whether any charges will be made.

There is still no news, however, on whether the poop was eventually scooped.
