The 8th death anniversary of the martyrs of 12th May tragedy was observed with rituals and reverence by Muttahida Quami Movement, while the participants also paid rich tribute to the martyrs.
It is pertinent to mention that MQM lost fourteen of its workers on 12th May 2007 tragedy. The programme was attended by In-Charge Coordination Committee Kahiful Wara, members Dr Farooq Sattar, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Arif Khan Advocate, members CEC, MNAs, MPAs, members various wings, workers and the bereaved families of the martyrs.
Talking on the occasion, the member of Coordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar said that the 12th May incident was a national tragedy and planned conspiracy against MQM. He said that his party was the receiving end while needed to know about the beneficiaries of the incident.
Dr Sattar said that after the incident, a forceful media trail was begun against MQM to defame it, while the party released a video CD comprising of the evidence of the incident. He said that MQM was punished because of raising voice against the discrimination of the privileged elite.
