A rapper affiliated with popular US hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan reportedly chopped off his own penis in his North Hollywood home in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
The victim was identified as rapper Christ Bearer, 40, whose birth name is Andre Johnson. Johnson belongs to the rap duo North Star. The group was reportedly discovered by Wu-Tang Clan in 1998.
Johnson's roommates, rappers Rugged Monk and Crisis Tha Sharpshooter, told a TMZ reporter that he had cut off his genitals with a kitchen knife, without warning, at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
After severing his penis, Johnson then proceeded to jump off the building from his second floor balcony. Crisis Tha Sharpshooter said he was in his bedroom reading a book at the time; Rugged Monk also told the reporter he did not see the jump. However, they said the victim was able to quickly stand back up, as he began to scream and run around.
The witnesses added that Johnson had not had any hard drugs, and that there were other people in their apartment at the time. Everyone was shocked by the sudden tragedy, they said.
The unfortunate incident came one day after North Star released a new music video on YouTube, titled, "Oooh."
In response, however, UK media Mirror reports that a representative from Wu-Tang Clan denied their link with Johnson, saying, "No one here has ever seen or heard of this fool until now."
