Edward Thomas was out and about in the middle of town when he spotted a man climbing a radio tower. At first it seems as if he was on the job, perhaps to check the broadcasting equipment.
However once at the top, it became apparent he was just trying to get the attention of the onlookers below, for a final action that would prove to be his last.
