India train explosion: one killed and nine injured on Guwahati-Bangalore Express

Two rudimentary bombs planted underneath the seats in an Indian train detonated, claiming the life of one female passenger and injuring nine, according to a Reuters report.
The Guwahati-bound train departed from Bangalore and stopped at Chennai at around 7:00 a.m. Police said that the "minor-intensity blasts" took place in two sleeper-class coaches and the explosive devices were concealed under the seats.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosions. An investigation is under way but no arrests have been made so far.
Incidents of election violence are relatively uncommon in India, but security has been tightened as the election approaches its end, which is scheduled for May 12.
A security alert was issued in Tamil Nadu and its neighbouring states Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
