Cop shoots old lady: 93-year-old woman with gun shot and killed

A 93-year-old woman was shot to death by police in the rural Texas town of Hearne on Tuesday, according to local authorities. Pearlie Golden, who was known to most of her neighbors as "Miss Sully," was shot by police officer Stephen Stem five times, according to witnesses.
A police department statement said officers responded to a 911 call involving "a female with a gun." Stem reportedly fired his weapon after telling the woman to put down the gun she was waving around, the station reported.
Other reports said Golden was waving the weapon around outside her house, threatening her nephew, because he had taken her car keys away. A few days before, the Texas Department of Public Safety refused to renew Golden's driver's license.
The case is being investigated by the Hearne Police Department, the Texas Rangers and the Robertson County Sheriff's Office.
