In a video uploaded to LiveLeak on May 6, a Thai monk can be seen lighting a large made-at-home firework in the middle of an open field. Moments later, he can't be seen lighting it, because the unintentional IED disintegrated in a fireball, taking the monk with it.

The video was likely shot in Buriram province on May 5, which is the Thai king's Coronation Day. Fireworks are a normal part of the celebration, but it looks like people in this poor rural area on the Cambodian border thought they could save some money by making their own fireworks. Maybe next year these farmers will splurge for the name brand.
