The best possible outcome for came for a mother after becoming the victim of a late-night carjacking at a Houston area gas station.
Baby Genesis's mother stopped for gas at around 1am. She exited the car in order to pay cash for her gasoline and was away for less than 2 minutes, but left the keys in the ignition and doors unlocked, providing the perfect opportunity for a thief.
As the suspect made off with her Saturn Ion, he must have noticed that his grand theft auto charge was going to be bumped up to kidnapping, and decided to do "the right thing" if you can call it that -- by leaving little Genesis in a vacant lot.
Around 7 a.m., area resident Hong Nguyen was out for her morning jog, and noticed the baby stirring in her car seat alone. She rushed to provide aid and called the police.
Little Genesis has been reunited with her mother, only suffering a few ant bites from her night out. Nguyen says she doesn't normally jog in the area where she found the baby, but she's glad she decided to switch things up that day.
The suspect is still at large, having ditched the stolen car on an adjacent street. If you have any information about him, please contact the Houston, Texas police department.
