Nine people in New Orleans' iconic Bourbon Street were injured as two men exchanged fire in the French Quarter. Images captured from surveillance camera in the area show people running as one shooter turned the gun on the crowd.

The shots rang out in the 700 block of Bourbon Street at around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. According to witnesses, a dispute between two men escalated into a shooting.

One of the men then turned and emptied his gun into the surrounding crowd as they fled into the nearby bars. Two of the nine people taken to hospitals were in critical condition.

Police are working to determine whether this shooting might be gang-related. This is the third major shooting in the area in three years.
