Dead body prank? Corpse strapped to gurney rolls out of coroner's van and into traffic
  • 9 years ago
A dead body strapped to a gurney rolled out of a coroner's van and onto a busy Pennsylvania highway late last week in an incident bystanders initially thought was part of an elaborate prank.

According to local reports, a coroner's van was transporting the body of a female drug overdose victim through Feasterville on Friday around noon when the van's door malfunctioned.

"It was a horrible thing," Bucks County Coroner Joseph Campbell told the Bucks County Courier Times. "I can't tell you how upset I was."

The white sheet-covered body next slid into oncoming traffic along a busy four-lane road, forcing drivers to maneuver around the gurney.

Thankfully bystander Jerry Bradley, who took a photograph of the incident that has since made the rounds online, helped the driver place the gurney back in the vehicle.
