A Connecticut state trooper has pleaded guilty to charges he stole cash and jewelry from a dying accident victim on the evening of September 22, 2012.

Aaron Huntsman, 45, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges of larceny and tampering with evidence under the Alford Doctrine.

John Scalesse, 49, the motorcyclist who collided with a construction truck, near exit 44 on Merritt Parkway, laid there to die when authorities say Huntsman arrived.

The 18-year veteran on the force was caught with his own dash camera stealing a $5,000 gold chain and $3,700 roll of cash from the former JAS Masonry executive.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, one noticed the unusual bulge Huntsman had in his front side. Scalesse's loved ones launched an investigation when they realized money and articles of clothing were missing from the scene of the accident.

Huntsman faces 16-months in prison and a five year probation, but won't be sentenced until October 3rd.
