Bee crash: Michigan man dies after crashing car into bee-infested house

A man from St. Charles, Michigan, has died after he crashed his car into a bee-infested home on July 30.
At around 3:30 p.m., the man was driving in a rural area along Spruce Road.
Just west of the M-52 highway on Spruce Road there is a slight curve to the southwest.
Police believe the man had a medical emergency and failed to negotiate the turn. He then drove directly into a house.
The house at 216 West Spruce Road had been abandoned for several years and was infested with bees.
The local County Sheriff says there were witnesses to the crash and several people tried to help right but were driven back by swarms of bees.
Someone then attached a tow line to the vehicle and pulled it out of the home as firefighters and rescuers arrived.
Emergency personnel tried to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will be performed as part of the police investigation.
