Witness: Ezell Ford an unarmed Los Angeles man was shot in the back three times by police

Family members claim Ford was complying with police orders when he was shot three times in the back by LAPD officers. Police are not releasing Ford’s autopsy results due to the pending investigation.
On Monday, August 11 at around 8pm, officers responded to a report of a possible officer-involved shooting in the Florence neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
Officers attempted to speak with Ford, who continued walking. Officers say they pursued Ford and struggle ensued which resulted in officers opening fire.
Witnesses claim they informed officers Ford was mentally ill. They say Ford lay on the ground, obeying officers orders when he was shot in the back three times.
Officers claim Ford attempted to take one of the officer’s weapons.
An investigation into the shooting is underway. The incident occurred just days after Michael Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old, was killed by police in Ferguson, Missouri which sparked widespread anger, marches, looting and clashes with police.
