Patricia Yurena comes out: former Miss Spain comes out on Instagram

Patricia Yurena Rodriguez, a two-time Miss Spain winner and a runner-up in last year’s Miss Universe competition, came out to the world on Instagram last week.
Yurena posted an intimate photo with her girlfriend up on Instagram, making her the first national pageant queen to openly admit that she’s gay.
Titled “Romeo and Juliet,” Yurena is seen in bed gazing into her girlfriend’s eyes. Her girlfriend is Vanesa Cortes, a singer and DJ on the Spanish House scene.
“I published the picture completely spontaneously and in an impulsive manner. Thank you for all your support,” Yurena tweeted.
She followed up the first picture with another one last Friday.
