Drowning boy saved by USC cornerback Josh Shaw with leap from from 2nd floor balcony

USC cornerback Josh Shaw has been an on-field hero for his team on more than one occasion, but over the weekend, the Trojan’s football captain demonstrated some rather incredible off-field heroics as well.
After noticing his seven-year-old nephew—who can’t swim—was struggling to keep afloat in a pool at a relative’s home in southern California, Shaw leapt from a second storey balcony to the ground below, seriously injuring both of his ankles.
After hopping in the pool and rescuing his nephew, Shaw says he knew he’d hurt himself, but said he’d do it again in a heartbeat for anyone in trouble--and not just his own nephew.
Doctors say Shaw is now sidelined indefinitely, but Shaw said he’s fortunate to have some of the best doctors in the world on his case and he expects to make a full recovery.
