A Filipino woman took her life and the life of her four-year-old daughter in their home in Taiwan after her marriage of ten years fell apart.

The woman, Glenda, discovered her husband Jiang was having an affair in China, where he had recently started working.

Glenda traveled to China to try to save their marriage. When her attempts failed, Glenda returned home with their children, a 4-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy.

The 47-year-old woman first attempted suicide by burning charcoal, but eventually hanged herself in the bathroom with electrical cords.

Her young daughter died from carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of the burning charcoal.

Her son woke up from the smoke and called 9-1-1.

Glenda left behind a note written in English. In it she expressed love for her husband but wrote: “I can’t take this pain and heartache anymore.”
