Palestine: Youth Unity Rally in Gaza Ends in Divisions

A youth rally called in support of Palestinian unity against Israeli aggression and occupation and against the ongoing division between the warring factions, mainly Fateh and Hamas, ended with clashes between adherents of the different currents. Members of the Islamic Bloc began chanting slogans against the Palestinian Authority arrest of Hamas activists in the West Bank, which enraged participants who were rallying precisely to overcome such divisions. Thugs then attacked the crowd and police moved in to violently disperse the rally, leading organizers to accuse Hamas of being responsible for dissolving the protest. Noor Harazeen reports from Gaza.
