Chile to Change Pinochet Era Constitution

In a televised address, Chilean President Michele Bachelet announced plans to change the 1981 Chilean constitution, a holdover from the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship. Bachelet pledged a citizen-driven process of constitutional reform but stopped short of calling for a constituent assembly to draft a new magna carta for the country. She also announced measures to combat corruption and campaign financing reforms. teleSUR
