A U.S. Marine survived a sniper headshot in Afghanistan in an incident caught on video by the helmet camera of a squad member.

The footage was taken during a joint helicopter raid in the Now Zad district in Afghanistan's Helmand Province.

The video starts with three Marines advancing from a yard through a building. The Marine at the rear is recording the action on his helmet cam.

The trio enters a long corridor filled with wood and makes their way to an opening at the end of the corridor.

As the Marines prepare to advance, a sniper bullet hits the second Marine directly in the helmet, causing him to duck down. The three Marines then pull back to their original position, while radioing in about the sniper.

The Marine with the helmet cam then tells the other Marine he watched him get shot. The Marine takes off his helmet to look at the damage. Luckily, no one was hurt.
