World Series 2014: Bumgarner pitches complete game shutout vs Kansas City Royals in Game 5
  • 9 years ago
It’s the time of year again when hipsters, tech nerds and people who just moved to the Bay Area pretend they’re diehard Giants fans as San Francisco faces Kansas City in the 2014 World Series.

Madison Bumgarner was untouchable in Game 5 Sunday against the Royals in San Francisco. The left-hander threw a four-hitter to beat Kansas City 5-0 for a 3-2 Series lead.

Not only did Bumgarner pitch for a complete-game shutout, the bats of Pablo “Kung Fu Panda” Sandoval and Hunter Pence were hot all night too, as they have been throughout the series.

The Royals have had an unbelievable ride to their first postseason in 29 years. James Shields was okay, but Hosmer, Perez and Moustakas had trouble finding wood all night.

Game 6 goes back to Kansas City, where hopefully the Royals can give Bay Area hipsters something to cry about.
