Accidental shooting: Wild boar hunt in China goes horribly wrong when cops shoot woman in the lung

Police in China inadvertently shot and wounded a bystander while attempting to subdue a wild boar tearing through city streets on the evening of November 4.
Security camera video of the incident the in southern city of Fuqing appeared on Chinese website 56.com and shows a boar fleeing from unseen pursuers. Moments later, three policemen trot into view from around the corner of a building and draw their weapons. The boar, perhaps cornered, u-turns and makes tries its escape. Bang — an officer fires. He misses. The swine gallops toward the lawmen, they scatter in panic.
An alternate view shows what the police did not see: a woman standing serenely. Was she waiting for a bus? Her boyfriend, perhaps? We may never know. What do do know is that the cop’s bullet struck her from behind, puncturing her lung. She staggers, unsure of what just happened. Bystanders, a father and young son, look askance at her for a moment, unwilling to be drawn into her problem, then continue on their way.
The victim, a 26-year-old woman suffered a collapsed lung and was sent to hospital. Local residents have criticised the police actions and the city police have begun an investigation.
