Selfie death: Polish nursing student dies after failed selfie on bridge

A Polish nursing student on vacation in Spain fell to her death after attempting to take a selfie on a bridge in Seville.
Sylwia Rajchel, 23, was trying to take a selfie on the ledge of the Puente de Triana bridge when she lost her footing and fell 15 feet onto the concrete footings of the bridge.
Police said Rajchel, from the city of Lublin, fell from the bridge just after midnight.
Rajchel then went into cardiac arrest after hitting the concrete. Emergency medics tried to save her, but she later died from her injuries, reported Central European News.
She had been studying at the University of Medicine in Posada in southern Poland to become a nurse.
“Going to Spain was a dream come true for my daughter,” Rajchel’s mother Bernadeta said. “She had taught herself the language and was hoping to work there in the future after finishing her studies.”
