A New Hampshire man has been arrested after allegedly forcing his way into his neighbor's home and strangling her incessantly barking dog.

Roger Pelletier, 50, faces burglary, cruelty to animals and simple assault charges stemming from the incident which took place Friday morning.

Police say Pelletier knocked on his neighbors door, and when she answered he pushed her aside and began to search the apartment for the Shih Tzu, named Oreo.

Pelletier reportedly found the dog hiding under a bed, grabbed him and began strangling the dog.

Oreo fought back, biting Pelletier repeatedly.

The pup’s owner called 911, and authorities were soon on the scene.

Pelletier is being held on $5,000 bail. Little Oreo was taken to the vet to get checked out.
