This cellphone video features a delinquent, henceforth known as Shovel Boy, seen using a large gardening tool to take out aggressors in a large street fight involving at least dozen people.

Once upon a time in the not too distant past, an urban gardener caught two thieves stealing the heirloom carrots he’d labored for months over. Ok, that’s a nice story … but it’s probably not what sparked this melee.

The brawl becomes cringeworthy when one of the delinquents resorts to using a shovel as a weapon against other fighters. Two blows from the shovel knock one participant out cold. The madness continues with a few more whacks over a chilling chorus of terrified screams.

Bystanders appear to not have a problem with the brawl until somebody spots the 5-0, causing the crowd to disperse.
