A Chicago-area man attacked a woman and tried to steal her belongings after he failed to get her number on a Chicago Transit Authority train on Monday.

Twenty-four-year-old Denzel Rosson asked a 21-year-old woman for her number on an “L” train shortly before 9 p.m., according to DNAinfo. When the woman refused and moved to another train car, Rosson followed.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News reported that the woman exited the train at Roosevelt Station, and Rosson followed her to the sidewalk on South Wabash Avenue.

She tried to call the police, but Rosson got her in a headlock, punched her in the face and tried to steal her phone and purse before running away.

Rosson then hid in a nearby restaurant, where he was arrested a few minutes later. He has been charged with battery and attempted robbery.
