Israel joins in bombing of Syria: IDF jets hit ‘Hezbollah’ targets in Damascus and Dimas

Syria on Sunday said that Israeli Defence Force (IDF) jets had struck several targets inside the country.

The Syrian army announced on state television that Israeli war planes had attacked targets in two areas near Damascus international airport and in the town of Dimas. The sites were suspected Hezbollah weapons dumps, according to western military analysts.

No casualties were reported as a result of the attacks

Reports said approximately 10 targets were hit during the raids.

Local television stations said that Syrian anti-aircraft batteries had fired at least two missiles at the planes during the attack.

The Syrian government called the airstrikes an act of “direct aggression” designed to aid opponents of the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

As is normal in alleged cases of Israeli planes striking outside of its borders, an IDF refused to comment on the reports.
