Killer heels: Woman suffers drunk attacks from her best friend on New Year’s Eve

TomoNews would like to raise awareness over excessive drinking on New Year’s Eve two days before this year comes to end.
Excessive alcohol over last New Year’s Eve had not just put 21-year-old Melissa Causer behind bars, but also left 20-year-old Sophie Robinson right eye blind for the rest of her life.
The duo met in Darlington College and had befriended since then.
On the last night in 2013, this pair of good friends decided to make the most of their night by visiting some pubs in Middlesbrough, north-east of England.
At one point, Causer asked Robinson to put her hairspray can in her purse but was refused by Robinson as her handbag was way too small. Causer then forced it into her own bag.
At the toilet, when Causer couldn’t find her hairspray, she accused of her good friend of stealing it. She later rejected Robinson’s suggestion of looking for it.”
Outside the club, after the intoxicated Causer told an officer her hairspray was stolen, she continued to chat with two other guys, leaving Robinson waiting in the cab. Robinson had to leave alone eventually as the cab driver didn’t want to wait any longer.
Causer later came back to her home in a different cab but asked Robinson to pay for the fare of £20. Robinson gave her £16 but was then shoved by Causer as she got out.
Causer later dragged Robinson onto the ground, kicked her legs, and sat on top of her.
Causer’s father arrived home just in time and lifted his daughter up but she stamped on Robinson three times, hitting her forehead, the side of her head and her right eye, causing her permanent harm.
Causer was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent at Teesside Crown Court and sentenced seven years in jail in September. She showed no remorse in court, according to her victim.
The two never talked again, ending the three-year friendship.
Robinson warns partygoers over the danger of excessive drinking during new year. Never had she thought her best friend, who showed no sign of violence before, could change her life completely and leaving a deep scar on her heart.
