AirAsia Flight QZ8501 black boxes: flight data recorder retrieved, cockpit voice recorder located

The second black box of the AirAsia plane the crashed into the Java Sea has been found near where search teams recovered the first black box.
Reuters reports that Fransiskus Bambang Soelistyo, head of the National Search and Rescue Agency, told reporters that the flight data recorder of AirAsia Flight QZ8501 was pulled up from the ocean floor at 7:11 a.m. on Monday.
Suryadi Bambang Supriyadi, operation coordinator at Indonesia's national search and rescue agency, said the cockpit voice recorder was located some 20 metres away from where the flight data recorder had been retrieved.
Both recorders were found about 4 km from where Flight QZ8501’s tail was retrieved on Saturday.
The cockpit voice recorder is buried under heavy pieces of wreckage at a depth of about 30 metres. Divers are trying to retrieve it, Supriyadi said.
Once the cockpit voice recorder is retrieved, both black boxes will be taken to Jakarta for data analysis, which could take up to a month.
