It can be a hardscrabble if you live in China, especially if you're water buffalo lost in the western megacity of Chengdu with a legion hysterical police on your tail.

Police dashcam video now going viral (courtesy of the Chengdu Public Security Bureau) recorded on January 29 captures the one of Chengdu's northern satellite towns speaks for itself really.

What the three-minute clip doesn't show is this beast run down it's owner, terrorise pedestrians and skewer a cop in the leg, according to local media reports cited by Shanghaiist.

After repeated attempts to stop the 1,500 pound animal, police finally chased it into a small park where they shot the animal four times before the matter was put to rest when a colleague in an SYV pinned it between a tree and said vehicle.
