Red Power Ranger actor Ricardo Medina Jr. will not face charges in ‘self-defense’ sword killing

Good news for all you Power Ranger fans. Ricardo Medina Jr., an actor who played several roles in various live-action Power Ranger movies, was released from custody on February 3 after authorities decided there wasn’t evidence to charge him with murder.
Medina, 36, got into a dispute with the victim, Joshua Sutter, 36, over the weekend. Initial reports media said Sutter was Medina’s roommate, but police later said Sutter was just a houseguest. Sutter was angry that Medina’s girlfriend was spending so much time at the house while Medina was gone.
An argument broke out and Medina went into his bedroom to cool off. Sutter, however, reportedly forced his way into the bedroom, and Medina killed him by stabbing him through the stomach with a replica medieval sword he kept in his room.
Medina said in a statement released to the media that he was “very sorry” for killing Sutter and has apologized to the Sutter family, but his lawyer noted that the incident was one of self-defense and that Medina’s girlfriend had witnessed the event.
