Terrorism in US: Six Bosnian immigrants charged with facilitating terrorism overseas
  • 9 years ago
U.S. federal prosecutors have filed charges against six Bosnian immigrants who allegedly provided material and financial support to an overseas militant fighter.

Six Bosnian immigrants, three from Missouri, two from Illinois and one from New York, are now facing charges of conspiring to provide terrorists with resources.

The Justice Department said that the defendants had been supplying Abdullah Ramo Pazara, a Bosnian fighting in Syria with firearms, camouflage clothing, optics, U.S. military uniform and combat boots. The supplies were sent to Turkey through U.S. mail before arriving in Syria.

The defendants also allegedly wired money to Pazara via PayPal and Western Union. Prosecutors said the six defendants communicated in secret codes on social media such as Facebook.

Five of the six defendants have been arrested, while one is out of the country. The prosecution has not revealed which of the defendant is still at large.
