Teen girl beaten to death, set on fire in Nigeria for being a suspected suicide bomber

A woman, reportedly a teenager, was beaten to death in Bauchi, Nigeria after a mob suspected she might be a suicide bomber, police and eyewitnesses said.
The girl was attacked when she refused to be screened at the entrance of a market, according to the BBC. An eyewitness said the girl's hijab was lifted, revealing two bottles strapped to her waist underneath. This was when the crowd attacked the young woman, beating her to death with clubs before sprinkling a tyre with petrol, placing it over her head, then setting it alight.
Police say the woman was dead by the time they arrived on the scene, and that no explosives were found on her.
A wave of suicide bombings in northern Nigeria has been blamed on Boko Haram militants, who recruit women for bombing attacks, the BBC reported.
Boko Haram wishes to enforce strict Islamic law across the country.
