Models of Diversity: Overcoming the loss of her hands and feet Weiqi Kuo can do anything

Weiqi Kuo will be going on her first solo bike ride around the island of Taiwan.
Many locals and tourists do go on long bike rides around the island, traveling from place to place, and the entire trip generally takes around 10 days.
But Weiqi is a little different because she’s got no hands or feet.
When Weiqi was 7 years old she got a blood infection and doctors were forced to amputate her hands and feet in order to save her life. But that hasn’t stopped her from learning how to play the piano, or from climbing Jade Mountain--the tallest mountain on the island of Taiwan, or from learning how dance.
She’s needed to have a custom fitted bicycle tricked out for her and she’ll wear prosthetic legs to help her reach the pedals, but she says she’s been training for this trip and she’s confident she’ll be fine.
When asked her father said that of course he and his wife will be worried about her, but then again, what parent doesn’t worry about their child when they decide to fly solo.
Weiqi confidently says she can do anything any other person her age can do and she’s not going to sit around wasting her life and twiddling her thumbs.
