Border Patrol shooting: agent fatally shoots man near Canada crossing

A Border Patrol agent shot and killed a suspected illegal border crosser near the Huntington Border Crossing in Sumas, Washington on Thursday.
The shooting took place on Kneuman Road at around 2:45 p.m., the Bellingham Herald reported. A man reportedly attacked the agent using pepper spray. The agent then opened fire and struck the man in the head.
The officer was not seriously injured, Reuters reported. The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General, Customs and Border Protection internal affairs and local authorities are investigating the incident.
