Rahm Emanuel wins second term as Chicago mayor

Barack Obama’s former chief of staff has been re-elected for a second term as Mayor of Chicago.
Rahm Emanuel holds onto his job in the President’s hometown after a run-off vote.
“Being Mayor of the city of Chicago is the greatest job I’ve ever had and the greatest job in the world,” he told supporters.
“I am humbled at the opportunity to continue to serve you, the greatest city with the greatest people, for the next four years.”
It will not be an easy second mandate for Emanuel: there is rising concern about violent crime and Chicago is facing financial difficulties.
Experts say the city’s budget deficit will grow to the equivalent of 1.1 billion euros next year.
