An Air Canada passenger jet made a dramatic botched landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada, the airline confirmed via Twitter early on Sunday.

Flight 624, an Airbus A320, reportedly clipped power lines during its approach at Halifax airport around 12.30 a.m. before making a hard landing and overshooting the runway. Airport spokesman Peter Spurway told the Chronicle Herald, "an aircraft made a poor landing."

The accident cut power to terminal buildings until about 2.10 a.m. when it was restored.

The aircraft had taken off from Toronto Pearson International Airport at 9.05 p.m for Halifax, Nova Scotia, with an expected flight time of about two hours and forty minutes. Poor weather and snow had reduced visibility.

All 132 passengers and five crew eventually disembarked, though many were treated for cuts and other minor injuries, the Chronicle Herald reported.
